10 THINGS WE WISH WE’D KNOWN WHEN WE STARTED BUTTER LANE Our rent was $2k too high. Our P&L projections were hilarious. The East Village is weirdly great place to start up in NYC. Our A/C would run like a champ, but only in the fall. Deliveries +  Online + Classes = Business savers. Shipping was a dumb idea, but not as dumb as cake pops. Everyone is an expert on cupcakes. And your business. We would run out of money in 6 months. We would find more. We are super stubborn and still here. Life is sweet.

Come visit our renowned “Cupcake Classroom” in the heart of the East Village; we’ll teach you to make cupcakes the Butter Lane way!   And right now you can grab a seat for only $30 (Regular price: $60). Please note: we have limited classroom capacity (12 people per class), so we are sending this extra note to our Butter Lane customers as a courtesy - seats will sell quickly, especially for multiple registrants in one class.   We provide the equipment, ingredients and know-how—you provide yourself and your friends. Our classes are casual—from the baking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step to the friend who’d rather assist (and taste). Want to see what our classes are like before you buy?
